10 Hotel Block Tips
- Using a hotel block allows your guests to simply reference your wedding when booking, making it easier for them to reserve a room without searching for options.
- 20% of your guest list will need a hotel room. If more than 50% of your guests are coming from out of town this will increase.
- When designing your guest list, note which guests need a hotel room. This will help you gather the necessary information when building your hotel block.
- It’s common for couples to secure blocks at two hotels: one offering a more affordable rate for guests who want to stick to a budget and another providing a more luxurious, higher-priced option for those looking for extra comfort and amenities.
- You’ll want to add hotel accommodations to your wedding website or stationery. You’ll receive a code from the hotel that you will share with your guests. This will allow them to receive a room under your block at that rate.
- Most hotel rooms need to be booked 30 days before the wedding day to ensure that your guests can secure their hotel block.
- Designing hotel bags/gifts for your guests is a great way for them to receive wedding information, such as welcome party details, transportation, and wedding day information.
- Booking a block of rooms for your guests can often lock in a lower rate. It’s a great way to save money while ensuring everyone stays close together.
- Ask the hotel if they offer a larger suite or conference room for you and your bridal party to get ready in. This can provide more space for hair, makeup, and pre-ceremony fun.
- Most couples book two rooms the night before the wedding. One for the bride to stay with her bridesmaids, they will wake up the next morning and start hair and makeup in the same room. The other is for the groom and groomsmen to get dressed in on wedding day. This room is usually smaller and the perfect spot for the bride and groom to stay in the night of their wedding.
