Selecting my favorite part of a wedding day is a challenging task. One moment that holds a special place in my heart is standing with the bride just before she embarks down the aisle. In those fleeting moments, I have the privilege of being a source of tranquility for her. It’s an opportunity for me to ground her and instill the confidence that our team has meticulously planned and executed her dream wedding. Now, she can fully immerse herself in the joy and magic of this significant moment. Having recently experienced the role of the bride’s mother, I deeply understand the desire for our children’s special day to be nothing short of perfect. This mission is personal to me, and I take pride in fulfilling it.

1. Savor Every Bite: Take advantage of your incredible caterers and indulge in the delicious food. It’s not just going to taste awesome, it’ll also keep you going strong all day long, so you can enjoy every minute of the fun.

2. Create Intimate Moments: Schedule private moments with your new spouse throughout the wedding day. These could include a quiet conversation in the bridal suite just after the ceremony or a private last dance for just the two of you. These special touches will allow you to connect emotionally and cherish each other’s presence amid the whirlwind of activities.

Wedding experience
Growing up, I was obsessed with weddings. I would dress up as a bride and force my cousins to play wedding day with me. At family weddings, I’d stare in awe at the brides, like they were princesses. I even planned my own wedding, my cousins’, and my daughter’s! Although I dreamed of planning weddings, life sometimes has other plans for us.

When my daughter met Lindsay, it was like a sign that it was time to make my wedding coordinator dreams come true! I joined Veil in June 2023, and it’s been the best decision ever. I’ve loved every minute of it and learned so much from the awesome women on the team.

As a teacher by day, wedding planning offers me a unique opportunity to leverage my organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in an environment filled with joy and excitement. There is an added bonus of getting to work side-by-side with my oldest daughter. My favorite part of wedding day is definitely the ceremony. It’s honestly the most stressful part of the wedding for any couple, but once the couple says their “I Do’s”, they can finally relax a little knowing that the most important part of the day is over!

Wedding day tip
My favorite wedding day tip is definitely prioritizing that “Just Married’ moment! I feel that over the years this moment is so truly special for all couples as they have just finished saying their “I Do’s” and it’s finally real that they are now married. All the wedding day stress melts away and they are left with this amazing feeling of pure love. That is the feeling that I believe newlyweds should truly hold on to and remember!

Wedding Experience
Started working as a wedding assistant for  “IDo Events” in Anchorage, AK the Summer of 2018. After moving to Kansas City in the fall of 2021, I started working with Veil Events by being a part of the amazing tear down crew as well as assisting weddings, and now being a lead coordinator.

Favorite part of wedding day
My favorite part of a wedding day is the adrenaline rush that comes right before sending everyone down the aisle! Getting all the last minute jitters out (fluffing that dress, perfecting flowers, touching up lipstick, etc.) … and then it’s showtime! 

Wedding day tip
Spend time with your spouse! It can be so hard with everything going on during the day to find some alone time to enjoy finally being married. Take just 10-15 minutes for a little break and spend some quality time together to celebrate your love!

Wedding Experience
From the heart of central Iowa, a graduate of Iowa State University with a major in Event Management and minors in Public Relations, General Business, Advertising, and Hospitality Management. I fell in love with weddings early on, giving me many opportunities within the industry. I first began working as a wedding planning intern in 2021 which turned into a part-time gig throughout college. After graduation, I moved to Savannah, Georgia to work as a full-time wedding planner and designer, learning all the ropes in destination and classic southern weddings. My relocation back to the midwest led me to Veil Events, where I am so excited to grow even more.

I have been in the wedding industry for about 6 months, but I come from a family that ran and owned restaurants/catering companies. So for about 15 years I’ve been working and planning large scale events for different occasions.

Favorite part of wedding day
My favorite part of the wedding day is speeches, whoever they are from. I just love getting to hear about the couple and see their two groups of families & friends get to collectively laugh & love on the couple. Your wedding is the only time that all your people get to be in one place for you and I think it is truly the most magical experience.

I really just love love. Getting to be a part of this day for couples is truly one of the most magical experiences and I love every minute of it.

I love each time I get to see a bride’s finished look and letting them know how beautiful they are and reminding them to relax and have fun because the day is now fully in my hands!

Don’t forget to drink water and eat! Which also means at that time make sure you sit. You will be on your feet all day, so eating is a good excuse to take a quick rest, get off your feet and refuel your body!
